Sad isn't it. All the U.S. military lives lost and destroyed and now it's back to getting ready for another 9-11 attack, and it will come.

The Taliban and Al Qaeda are and have been joined at the hips, Al Qaeda has been in Afghanistan
the entire war. Now China wants talks with the Taliban, another move to cover the far east by their grip.

This country is getting in worse shape one day at a time and we're being led by somebody that hides from us when things go wrong and we got another 3 1/2 years left of this corn pop.

I watched videos of American airplanes taking off with people trying to hold on or get in and if it is to be believed little black dots that were falling from the plane were people....

I saw applications for Echo-31 ( Internment/ Resettlement Specialist) jobs advertised paying up to 6 figures a year

They now have access to stinger missiles, amongst many other goodies they captured like drones, armor, Blackhawk helicopters etc.


Them having stingers should be serious cause of concern.

Some 15,000 Americans are still caught in Afghanistan(behind enemy lines) and the airport is surrounded by the Taliban. Corn pop is believing the Taliban will allow them, without harm, to get to the airport, as the state department told them yesterday that they can't promise their safety.

I've never heard of withdrawing troops without first getting all U.S. people out of harms way first. We are now a disgrace and laughing stock in the eyes of the world, thanks to KING CORN POP.

I have a lot of thoughts on this topic. Without turning this political I'll simple say this;

Our government has put more effort into evacuating Afghanis (most of them are fighting age males) over US citizens in country.

Put that into perspective where their values and interests lie.



China is watching this unfold and licking their chops looking at Taiwan. Russia is looking at Ukraine and the Baltics with hungry eyes. We are being exposed as nothing more than a paper tiger and when that happens historically that country loses its status shortly thereafter as the global reserve currency.

Also on the news it said the taliban were taking passports and paperwork from people that were heading to the airport and giving the paper work to taiban fighters. Now what do we do????

Here's my opinion, the taliban aren't going to let any U.S. citizen onto that airport.

The 9/11 anniversary is about 3 weeks away, they are going to use these people to show blood shed, on national TV.

The entire world is going to suffer from this, no questions about it.

But a lot of them were contractors, keeping Afghan aircraft in flying condition.

Ya right, I believe the people that are stuck there that have been in contract with congress people and some senators, saying they can't get out.

Today, the state department finally admitted that only several thousand U.S. citizens have been evacuated, to me that means around 3,000 out of a possible 15,000 and only 8 days to go. Just don't look good. This administration is going to abandon them, just my opinion.

Our so called President just signed the death warrant for thousands of U.S. citizens, he refuses to extend the August 31st evacuation of Afghanistan. That means there are only a few days left to get them out, as it will take the military 2 or 3 days for them to get out with their equipment.

On the news they said that the taliban now have more black hawk helicopters then 85% of other countries.

We live in a sad sad world, with no respect from our allies any longer.

Yesterday, Rep. Mike Gallagher (WI), introduced a bill to make sure all U.S. citizens be evacuated from Afghanistan before the troops would be withdrawn.

When I heard the news of the bombing it almost made me sick to my stomach. I'm just a old round man .I am to old too volunteer to go fight , but if I was younger.... I would be first in line to go get our people and bring them home best I can offer , all we can offer is our prayers.....

Everyone knew we had to leave Afghanistan. I think that's actually 1 thing that 90+% of Americans would agree on. We can't stay there forever and need to bring out people home (except we should have kept bagram airbase for it's strategic value but I digress)

Not only was this attack entirely predictable, it now serves as a catalyst for more American bloodshed as it will hasten our evacuation and the likelihood that American citizens who are trying to leave can't get to the airport and get out and WILL BE LEFT BEHIND by this administration to suffer very grim fates. I have a lot of anger and frustration today.

General McMaster's spiel was mostly accurate, though biased. We have to remember he and Trump didn't always get along, and Trump fired him, unceremoniously after he had been White House Security Advisor for about a year. So, he conveniently leaves out a few details, when he talks about the deal Trump made with the Taliban (we had no combat fatalities over there for 18 months, and that wasn't by accident).

I have to point out, though, we haven't left Germany, after WW2 so we didn't HAVE to leave Afghanistan. But it was in our best interest, as long as we could leave it in a somewhat stable condition, and leave them knowing that if Al Q'ada or ISIS comes back, so do we. That was part of the deal Trump made with them. Of course, that deal expired on the day China Joe took office.

I think I agree with DTKA about keeping Bagram airbase. Not sure, since I don't know enough about Afghanistan's geography, but it seems like we should keep a foothold somewhere in the region, since they do not seem capable of self rule.

The key word here is "plans" they had no "plans" to evac anyone beyone the immediate area. They didn't know how it could be done. Didn't know how to get past the Taliban Checkpoints.

The upshot of this, is that the Taliban were already in control, when that briefing was given, about two weeks ago.

There were a few things Trump should have acted on, like the increasing violence against the Afghans, before he left office, but he had drawn his own "line in the sand" and they hadn't actually crossed that line. Unfortunately, he drew it too far from where the Taliban should have been stopped. The agreement was in abeyance before Biden ever took office, but no one wanted to declare it such.

I doubt we airlifted 100,000 people in less than 14 days but I need to do the math.  I think this is BS.

Somewhere I read there are 3 or 4 military bases here that are housing those without proper cred like a Green Card, naturalization docs, etc.

One of those bases is Ft. Bliss which is also hosting our guests from the southern border including a large number of unaccompanied children. My thoughts and prayers are with Gov. Abbott. He truly is being dumped on for being the wrong political party and trying to do the right thing for all Texans.

I did the math. Based on 12 days of flights, first alerts went oiut Aug 14th from the State Dept....

If they flew 16hrs per day that would be 520 or so people airlifted per hr. to get 100,000 people out.

But how many times I've seen on TV, pictures of planes in the air with only a handful of people.

Here's a career Marine with 17 years of active duty, Lt.Col. Stuart Scheller, who spoke the truth and was relieved of his command.

Not only was he relieved of his command, he was so pissed off at the higher command about the Afghanistan withdrawal, that he resigned his commission instead of putting up with the BS of his senior officers and the administration. Now that Marine has a set.

He threw away 17 years of active duty and only had 3 years until retirement. He threw it all away including any benefits from the VA, etc.. He said that he wanted nothing from his service to the country:
