Venezuela grid down
I would say most of us are significantly more aware and in tune with events than the general population is.
I've been trying to keep tabs on what is going on in Venezuela.
Everyone knows it's been a complete socialist failure and has spiraled down the tubes in epic collapse.
Now.... A new twist
https://www.yahoo.com/news/chaos-machines-fail-patients-die-venezuela-blackout-224403704.html
The grid suddenly went down Nationwide. Some substations even reportedly blew up. You can infer what you want (there certainly is speculation it's deliberately sabotaged).
But the grid going down has turned the collapse into a complete disaster that is getting worse by the hour.
It's a real life case study to pay attention to on the effects of grid down.

My wife and I were discussing this and trying to figure which super power would try and absorb Venezuela when the melt down is complete. Just for the record my money is on China

Didn't they help Venezuela with their oil rigs and equipment?
IMO china would love a strong foothold in the Americas

China and Russia are somewhat allies of Venezuela.
My best guess is it was special forces of the United States and its allies - Any bets?

Re: Venezuela grid down
Entering the fifth day without power and they're looting, they were looting when they had power, it's only gotten worse because people are tired of eating out of garbage cans while their administration officials are eating lobster and steak. It's sad that innocent people have to die because of not having electricity (those in the hospitals).
Just sit down and think of what would happen here in the big cities if everything stopped for the fifth day because of no power.
I'm glad I live where I do, you couldn't pay me any amount of money to live within 100 miles of a major city.

Each hour that passes without power in Venezuela brings more havoc and stress to a country already on edge.
The blackout has lasted several days and with poverty levels already high and 40C heat, how is the country coping?

Water is gold now in Venezuela. You have to look/read this article. One woman says she and her family haven't had running water for two years, she how the recycle their water from bathing with 1 liter of water to flushing their toilets and the list goes on:

Doesn't surprise me, it's just a matter of time.
I said in a previous post, DON'T FORGET CUBA.
Cuba has been in Venezuela for over a century, Russia supports Cuba and China will support anyone that's against the U.S..
Right now the U.S. is in check.

Re: Venezuela grid down
Cuba can't even support themselves. Cuba need the Venezuela oil. So Russia steps in to save the day. At least to keep the rabble in line and steal the oil. Russia sees major dollar signs controlling the biggest reserves of oil in the world. They don't have a problem just walking in and taking what they want. If we did the same we'd be badmouthed by the whole world.
Venezuela owes both China and Russia major dollars. Neither country will bow to the other so it will be interesting on seeing who wins the pot.
In the meantime our refineries are screwed because they are made to use the thick oil coming out of Venezuela. Until a couple weeks ago we were importing 108,000 barrels a day. Now nothing. This is why gas is going up. Refineries are scrambling to find a source of heavy oil. They cannot refine our sweet crude we pump here.
I have no idea of the chemistry or whether they can re-calibrate the refineries to use our oil.

Re: Venezuela grid down
OAR, I do agree with some of what you said, but, there are currently 20,000 to 25,000 cuban troops in Venezuela. Cuba says they're there because they are medical staff. If anyone believes that, then I have some ocean front property here in Pennsylvania to sell ya. Fox news said yesterday another 5,000 cuban troops are on their way there.

Yes, gas has gone up everywhere, but Venezuela is only part of that, OPEC has cut production since Trump asked them to increase it and the flooding in the midwest has cut ethanol production and the refineries are doing their spring cleaning.
It is sad on what you sad about thick and thin oil and the refineries, but I'm no chemist either.

Rick, I know there are Cuban troops there. Cuba is a Russian puppet and do what they are told. It does not look as bad for Russia with Cuban troops there.
I do not know if I am right about the refineries but that is what they are saying. Any excuse to jack us around and raise the prices.
The real conflict is between Russia and China over this. We are just collateral damage. If either gain control over Venezuela we are screwed big time. We should be tired of these takeovers and go take it ourselves. It would be better for the world and the people there.

Can't we send Bernie and AOC down there to straighten things out? We could promise Bernie the presidency if he solves their problems and AOC -promise her the VP position.
They should show us how to do it right. It's partially done for them. No fossil fuels are being used and they probably ate all the cows already.

Anybody know how to find an e mail for Pelosi? I want to suggest to her a way to get rid of AOC ,
All she would have to do is convince (should not be hard) t AOC on the Venezuela thing. Just tell her if she would go down and straighten out Venezuela that she would support AOC for president.

Ok we now have Russia,China and Cuban military in Venezuela. I know that they all have oil interest there , but is that the end game or do you guys think there is something more?? I know our southern border is wide open but I don't think that they would consider invasion... Any ideas ??

Re: Venezuela grid down
I think there is a lot more to it, just look what has happened in the last 3 or 4 years. China building an artificial island in the pacific with landing strips, Russia invading the Ukraine and presents in Cuba, more so than ever, etc..
Yes, there is more to it, an invasion of the U.S., no. Intel agents coming through the southern border, yes.

Why would either want to invade? That costs money and they might get nuked.
Much easier to just bleed us dry through controlling the oil. They can wreck our economy, feed more crap in to make us hate each other till we have a Civil War. Then they can just walk in to SAVE us like they are doing in Venezuela.

I don't think they are planning an invasion anytime soon , but I do believe it is in the long term plans (the movie Red Dawn).. I don't think they would be worried about getting nuked that's is pretty much out of the question simply because if you do us we will do you and everybody knows it , but taking small bites of North America at a time would not be out of the question.. Look at the Muslim population in Minnesota they have a very large gathering there. Just one bite at a time.....
I'm not trying to be a racist or doomsayer ,but I do tend to see the world in black and white no gray area or that's what my wife says anyway..

https://www.foxnews.com/world/fervent-ties-remain-between-iran-and-venezuela-by-the-way-of-hezbollah
Iran is an ally of Russia. Hezbollah is an arm of Iran. North Korea and Iran have an alliance. North Korea is a puppet of China. As Iran and Venezuela become increasingly isolated and sanctioned by the U.S and much of the international community, the two governments are said to be tightening their bond - with the help of Tehran's proxy group, Hezbollah, in the middle of the action.
"Training between Iran and Venezuela has increased in the past few years as part of a larger plan between the Venezuelan regime, consisting of increasing the number of Hezbollah operatives and their supporters across Latin America,” Johan Obdola, President of the Canada-based Global Organization for Intelligence (IOSI) and former counter-narcotics chief in Venezuela, told Fox News. “(Hassan) Rouhani and (Nicolas) Maduro have established a very firm and close relationship, which was of course initiated by (Hugo) Chavez.”
Venezuela’s connections to Iran – and by default its proxy militia, Hezbollah – go back more than a decade. Hezbollah, which translates to “The Party of God,” is an Iran-backed, Shiite-dominant political and military group that began in Lebanon in 1982, ...
There you have it. From Russia to China, they are all in league against America.
(I can tell you why, in the Religion section.)

I do believe we should refrain from calling it a coup,
as that is what our enemies want to label it. Guaido
is the lawful leader of that country, and Maduro has
no lawful standing, according to their constitution.

It looks like it hit the fan there yesterday. Random gun battles in the streets.
Citizens attacking APCs with rocks. APCs plowing into crowds.
Fires all over. Massive crowds. Rioting. Protesting. Marching. Mass arrests.
It got bad.
The question is will this quickly fizzle out as the regime cracks down or will the people escalate and continue pushing the situation.
This is EXACTLY why we should NEVER give up our guns.

This is an assertion made by FL Rep Mario Diaz-Balart, who has some intel credibility, but I don't have independent information to back him up. That would mean they are within range for an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile.

If it true and they do have nukes and a launch facilities there I don't think they are going to welcome us with open arms..
Time to rethink the preps again

Nuclear weapon(s) in Venezuela, maybe, could be, possible. My guess is as good as anyone else.
One thing is for sure and something to think about, Russia did land 2 nuclear carrying bombers in Venezuela back in December. Whatever came of that situation.

That was just a routine training / show of force mission.
Nothing to see there. Nothing out of ordinary that we don't do.
What you want to look for is Russian AN-124s landing or reports of Russian flagged freighter vessels arriving.
I do find it concerning they already set up an s300 battery.
