The rise of AI
Has anyone put any thought into what would happen if artificial intelligence continues to evolve and develop what some potential outcomes are?
I Know many of us worry about grid down scenarios and this is basically the opposite.
I'm not only speaking about a "skynet" like system from the Terminator movies that is one possibility.
The internet of things (IOT), quantum computing and advancing artificial intelligence are quickly going to create a world where everything is interconnected and evolving faster and in a way that the programmers can't control.
Here are a few things to be mindful of. It doesn't take much of an imagination to see how this can turn against us. (Think Terminator, irobot, war games etc)

Here is just a very simple example of technology used for evil

I definitely think there is enough to be concerned with and I don't think enough people are talking about it either.

Re: The rise of AI
One Sci-Fi book I read had a hacker using AIs to drive trucks into guard posts and free prisoners all over a country at the same time as all AI connected military vehicles were shutdown. Isn't much of a stretch to think robotic cars or trucks could be hacked to cause problems in crowded pedestrian areas - downtown shopping areas, suburban malls, sports arenas, etc.
From a prepping standpoint it doesn't matter a lot to me if it's rogue AI, hackers or just live terrorists causing an incident - the results would basically be the same, so preparing for the results is as good as I can do and not worry too much about how a given scenario might come to be.

Imagine this technology with a power hungry government. Not good.

People won't talk about it, either.
We can't make them.
It does have an impact on our preps, and you nailed the reason why:
Imagine this technology with a power hungry government. Not good.
Google is not willing to work with our government, but is willing to work with the Chinese. They think the Chinese government and social system is the best model. Let that sink in.

Preppers love talking about all sorts of dystopian outcomes, some of which IMO are fringe at best.
The rise of AI and a techno totalitarian rise is arguably one of the most likely and immanent threats we face but there is little discussion on the topic. I think that is interesting
Maybe because it's more abstract and outward looking but it's just not a main topic.
I put it right up there with grid downs and pandemics.

Re: The rise of AI
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely” (Acton's Maxim, 1887)
People don't want to talk about AI in the hands of a hostile government, because it inevitably puts preppers in direct conflict with our own government. To that end, I don't really want to get into detail here, like I would on a secure channel, but look very, very closely at Revelation Ch 13 and you will see where it will go.
The Founding Fathers limited and constrained the powers of government, because they knew that power corrupts. What is worse, in their day men worshipped God and looked to the Church to deal with social problems. Today, men worship themselves and look to the Government to deal with social problems. (2 Tim 3:13)

I hadn't thought of it in this context but what you said makes sense to me. And I understand about being cautious of what is said on an open platform I'm catching what your throwing.

Take this with a grain of salt but it's certainly unsettling.

Re: The rise of AI
I wonder if the "Tinker" corp has anything to do with a project call TIA.
Combine that one with this one.
(I have lost track of where who pointed me to this youtube vid)

It shows our future, if we allow it.
(Maybe this is what Valenti found out.)
