They can't grow roses in France?

We had a rose garden when we lived in Pennsylvania. Never lost a single bush even in the blizzards. They're pretty hardy, except when deer eat them.

Roses are pretty. But too expensive. Hubby often comes home with a grocery store bunch, and I'm happy with those! I tell him NO flowers on Valentine's day. I don't even like Valentine's Day. Show me all the others days, not just 1 day a year how you feel! Our daughter *hates* that day. Newly married, her hubby is so glad for that, lol.
