Looks like this year the flu is hitting pretty hard so far, there are 2 types, the A(H1N1)pdm09 and the A(H3N2), which is hitting the southern states. A double whammy:

Not sure why Fox news and CDC would report that "this season will be the worst in decades." There is no evidence of that. The initial wave of flu cases is already on the wane, and even though another one is expected, statistically it doesn't look as bad as several other years in recent history.

One thing we need to be on guard against is hyperbole. The CDC has been thoroughly corrupted by political and commercial interests, and has been busy in the past few years pushing Leftist agenda and commercial propaganda. Add that to the fact that FoxNews, like any other network, gets more ad revenue when the news is eventful and less when it is boring, and the result is that the headlines don't always reflect reality, even with Fox.

So ... apparently I had the FLU last week! It's been over 10 days and I'm still not 100%. I'm a HUGE advocate of the flu shot, and this year I didn't get one. 3 days of aches, fever and either sleeping on the sofa, bed or a chair turned into bronchitis, an inhaler & steroids.  I'll be an even bigger advocate, after this and NEXT year ... I won't forget!  Only plus out of this is the few extra pounds I lost to get into my Mother-of-the-Bride dress

My wife and I get the flu shot every year, but this morning my wife woke up feeling aches all over.
I'm still good, haven't had the bad flu in many years only bad colds and I get them from the grandkids.
