How to Pressure Can Pinto Beans
https://www.tngun.com/pressure-canning-beans/
(SNIP) ... canning them ahead of time I cut down on prep time. It takes hours of cooking to soften dried beans, but it only takes 90 minutes to pressure can beans, and then they are ready to eat right from the jar, or reheated with a minimum of fuel resources.
Pressure canned beans are almost always soft and tender, while it can be hard to get dried beans soft enough for my taste, especially if they have been in long term storage. ---CONTINUED---

Re: Home Canning Pinto Beans
I tried canning pinto beans and they came out great. We opened a couple of pint jars last night and they tasted great right out of the jar of course the were even better with some ham and a few fried taters...
Just thought I would share. We are going to try Chilli beans and baked beans next...

Still trying chilli beans. The first canner was a disaster I had no idea that kidney beans will grow 3 times their original size... Live and learn I reckon

Dave, beans swell once you soak them in water, but I had no idea that kidney beans swelled that much.
Look at how much rice you get from one dried cup, you end up eating rice for a week and my wife does this to me all the time.

We use 3 different beans in our recipe and the black and white beans double in size, but most of the kidney beans almost look mutant anyhow I let them soak over night and succeeded in running two canners with no problems.. I will try baked beans next.
On a side note I just got back from the grocery store and some of the beans say the are out of stock.. I will still get mine at the dollar tree as long as they carry them.. Wal-mart was the only place in town that still have black beans...
