None of the seven - six Singaporeans and a Permanent Resident - have recent travel history to China.

Among them, the taxi driver, 64, and private hire car driver, 53, both Singaporeans, do not appear to have links to other cases. ---CONTINUED---

If we assume this is the breakout we have been anticipating (probable, but not certain), we can work backwards to a convenient zero day of 27 Jan, and assume one case for that day.

The math works out to 8 cases on the 8th, and 32 on the 16th.
If all quarantine measures fail, as they initially seemed to in China (I will revisit that later this morning, with some "almost good" news), then this works out to 256 cases on the 1st of March. The geometric growth rate continues until something slows it. That slowing could be quarantine, social distancing, or a vaccine. Or when it runs out of infectable hosts (we still don't know if everyone is vulnerable, or only a certain segment of the population, since that angle has not been studied).

Time will tell.

Singapore MOH Confirms 8 More COVID-19 Cases

In addition to having infected travelers returning from Singapore turning up in South Korea, Malaysia, France, and the UK over the past week or 10 days, public health authorities have identified 5 distinct clusters of locally transmitted COVID-19 in the city.

   Today, 8 more cases - all linked to these known clusters - have been announced.

This brings Singapore's total number of confirmed cases to 58.    ---CONTINUED---

Outside of Mainland China, Singapore appears to have the most active community transmission of the novel coronavirus - reporting 9 more cases today - raising their country's total to 67. In addition, we've seen recent visitors to Singapore turning up in South Korea, Malaysia, France, and the UK over the past week or 10 days.

Singapore has identified 5 community clusters of cases involving 34 cases, and continues to investigate about a dozen sporadic community acquired cases. ---CONTINUED---

Case 73 is a 43-year-old regular in the Singapore Armed Forces[/I].He works at Building 613 of Tengah Air Base, but has not been at work since Feb 6, said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).

According to the health ministry, he reported the onset of symptoms on Feb 9 and sought treatment at a GP clinic a day later.

He was identified as a close contact of Case 51, who works at Grace Assembly of God branches in Tanglin and Bukit Batok, and was served a home quarantine order on Feb 13.

A day later, he was taken to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), and tested positive for the coronavirus on Feb 15.

Prior to being admitted, he attended the Tanglin branch of the church. He lives at Lorong 8 Toa Payoh.

As a precautionary measure, SAF carried out "immediate and thorough disinfection" of the premises the serviceman had been in, said MINDEF. ...There are now 18 confirmed cases linked to the church..[B]

This made my heart sink.
Of any people that can be counted on the "play by the rules' it's the people of Singapore. Heck, I'd behave them too if I lived there! BUT 35% would still attend an "important" even even if were developing symptoms... we don't stand a chance. Not a chance.

SINGAPORE: Ten more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital on Friday (Feb 21), including a DBS employee and several people linked to the Grace Assembly of God church cluster, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a daily update.

Singapore reported one more confirmed case of COVID-19 , bringing the number of cases in the country to 86.

Forty-seven people have now fully recovered from the virus, while 39 remain in hospital, with five in critical condition...

SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Saturday (22 February) confirmed three new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Singapore, bringing the total to 89.

Of the new cases, one is linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God, and one was among the group of Singaporeans who were evacuated from Wuhan on 9 February.

Separately, two more patients – a six-month-old infant along with the mother – have been discharged from the hospital. This brings the total of those who have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged to 49, more than half of the total confirmed cases.

Four more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospital today (Cases 37, 67, 69 and 88). In all, 78 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospital.

2. As of 2 March 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified two more cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore. Of these, one is linked to the cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd while the other is linked to a previous case.
