A second patient with COVID-19 was diagnosed last night. This was determined by lab research at the Amsterdam UMC, after which the result was confirmed in the laboratory of the RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. The patient has no link with the first patient.
The second patient, a resident of Amsterdam was in Lombardy (Italy) last week. She is in home insulation in Diemen. The Amsterdam Municipal Health Service (GGD) maps out who this patient has been in contact with through contact investigations

The woman from the Amsterdam region who was diagnosed with coronavirus Covid-19 on Friday is an employee of the Amsterdam UMC, the hospital confirmed on Friday. She did not work with patients. The woman does not have to be hospitalized. Her symptoms are minor enough that she can safely be quarantined at her home in Diemen, Aura Timen, spokesperson for public health institute RIVM, said to NOS.
The woman came back from holiday this week and was working at the hospital for a short time on Thursday, the hospital said. The chance of further infection at the hospital is small, UMC Amsterdam said. Municipal health service GGD Amsterdam is currently identifying exactly who the woman had contact with...

NETHERLANDS-CoVid19 Case Counts (Possible & Confirmed)
Hat Tip to FluTrackers:
8 new patients were reported , brings the total number of positive tests to 18
https://www.rivm.nl/nieuws/acht-nieuwe-patienten-opnamestop-ic-afdeling-maasstad-ziekenhuis
As of Monday 2 March, 8 new patients were reported to the RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. This brings the total number of positive tests to 18 in the Netherlands. Almost all new persons diagnosed with the new corona virus are people who have been to northern Italy or are family contacts of a previous patient. If the source of the patient's infection is still unknown, this is also sorted out.
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) and are working on mapping the contacts of all patients. All contacts are placed under monitoring by the GGD for 14 days after their last contact with the patient and must monitor their health and inform the GGD accordingly. In addition to this, family contacts are asked to stay at home and to have as little physical contact as possible with other people. In the event of complaints, the contacts are tested.
Admission stop IC intensive care department Maasstad Hospital
One of the patients was in intensive care at Maasstad Hospital. The hospital has meanwhile instituted a partial admission stop in the intensive care unit as a precautionary measure. This means that no new patients will be admitted to this department. Furthermore, the hospital remains open. The hospital and the GGD map the contacts of the patient (visitors and carers) and check whether they have complaints. All contacts of patients who have a cold or a fever have been asked to stay at home. They are tested if necessary.
