I agree with him, on his conclusions.
There are a couple other verses I wish he would have included:
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

And there is a great deal of Scripture to show that we are on the cusp of the End Times (even though it may be several years away).
I call this plague "a foreshadowing" of the 4th Horseman of the Apocalypse.
In other words, The Rider on The Pale (Ashen) Horse (Revelation 6)

7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

This means I see it as "the Rider sits on his horse, and casts his shadow across the world." And this is just a shadow of things to come, for those who reject God's plan for Salvation.
