Welcome to the forum. You said before, that you have an interest in communication. I am not from Idaho, but I do have an interest in communication, and I know of at least one Net that has its roots in Idaho.

Part of this is my strategy to keep you coming back here

The Net is owned by Radio Free Redoubt and it is called AmRRON,
which stands for American Redoubt Radio Operators Network.

They operate on 20 and 40 meters, and maybe a few other bands. For a donation of about $10 bucks or so, you can get a copy of their Comm Plan. (I need to do that, I have been procrastinating.) I don't know how wide their Nets are now, but they used to cover all of the continental US, a lot of Canada, and some of Europe. They do some voice, but a lot of their work centers around getting people to use digital comms, and they will teach you how to do it.

They also run a CH3 network, for unlicensed operators, on Channel 3 CB, FRS, and GRMS.
