A New Yorker was trapped, for 10 hours, by a snow plow that covered his vehicle. The onset of hypothermia:

I was just thinking about this guy, if he had a cold weather survival kit in his trunk, he'd still be screwed because he was in the front seat and couldn't get to the trunk of his vehicle.

You may want to keep some stuff in the back seat of the vehicle, blanket, water, snacks, etc., really doesn't take up much room.

I never thought of this, because I have an SUV with everything accessible.
