E-mail accounts
Since all the talk started about about You-tube and others cutting off people channels i have been visiting other venues that proclaim free speech..
Yesterday i went to check my e-mail and was told that Microsoft had temporarily locked my e-mail account without giving me a reason...
Has this happened to anyone else ????

Re: E-mail accounts
I'm actually in the process of removing all my photos off FB, because I feel like its only a matter of time. GAB seems to be doing better, but still not seeing any of my 'friends' over there. Problem is FB is where I'm connected to family-far-away (which is just about ALL of my family )

Re: E-mail accounts
Think of this, the Sec of Defense has ordered a review of all military personnel, to have their social media checked.
Why, they want to censer everything that the demonrats don't agree with.
I'm wondering how many will be kick out of the military because they disagree with Adolf Biden or his minions.
You want to talk about how to start a civil war, this is how you do it.

When I was in the military there was a few Pres. that I didn't like , but my personal opinion didn't matter because he was potus and I took an oath.. By the Sec of Defense doing what he done it shows that they very little faith in our military and that's a bad thing.....
I agree Rick there is a time coming when people will have to make a stand and the Dems are pushing towards that time with no signs of slowing down

enter your email address (no password or anything else)
and see if your email account has been compromised.
I know (from his previous work) the guy that runs the site. He made his fortune back in the 90's creating hard drive maintenance software, and some other projects. He has a couple things on the site that can make him some money if you choose to help fund him, but it isn't necessary.
He and I don't agree on everything, but we both agree that, for most people, their passwords are terribly weak.

I think SecDef might have noticed that there were more than a few veterans in the crowd that invaded he capital on that fateful day:
https://www.npr.org/2021/01/21/958915267/nearly-one-in-five-defendants-in-capitol-riot-cases-served-in-the-military
So it kind of makes sense to double-check that active duty personnel are adhering to the rules....
Especially since at least one of those arrested was an active guardsman:
https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2021/01/14/army-guardsman-first-known-service-member-arrested-after-capitol-riot/
And since military personnel have to undergo regular security checks, this doesn't sound ominous to me....here's an article from 2018 talking about that:

https://www.npr.org/2021/01/21/958915267/nearly-one-in-five-defendants-in-capitol-riot-cases-served-in-the-military
NPR compiled a list of individuals facing federal or District of Columbia charges in connection with the events of Jan. 6. Of more than 140 charged so far, a review of military records, social media accounts, court documents and news reports indicate at least 27 of those charged, or nearly 20%, have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military. To put that number in perspective, only about 7% of all American adults are military veterans, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2021/01/14/army-guardsman-first-known-service-member-arrested-after-capitol-riot/
Two off-duty Virginia police officers who’ve served in the Army — including one who is still in the National Guard — and a former active duty airman have been arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Jacob Fracker, 29, and Thomas “T.J.” Robertson, 47, were arrested and charged in federal court Wednesday on one count of knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to a federal criminal complaint.
Fracker is a corporal and an infantryman with the Virginia Army National Guard, while Robertson previously served as a military policeman in the Army Reserve. Fracker is the first active service member known to be charged in connection to the Capitol riot.

Under the new guidelines, officials will conduct “continuous” monitoring of federal employees who have roles in national security, including service members. Historically, individuals were up for periodic reviews every five to 10 years, depending on the type of clearance. The new, continuous evaluation will include a system that automatically pulls data on workers’ financial and criminal records, and, eventually, data from social media.

Strip it down as far as you can, but leave the account open.ReadyMom wrote:I'm actually in the process of removing all my photos off FB, because I feel like its only a matter of time. Email all your family, as much as you can, but leave the connection alive so they can reach you.
Also important, any photos uploaded from a cell phone have the date, time, and exact location of the cell phone embedded in them. Facebook harvests all of that info, as well as any names connected to the photo or account. Keeping as much info as possible off there is important.

If you can remember to do it, it's best to strip the EXIF data from any photos before uploading to any social media sites, or even just a blog....I've found EXIF data in more than one picture on a prepping site and have reached out to the site owners to let them know they are leaking GPS coordinates.
Personally I don't interact with FB, and my Twitter is almost unused...I tend to lurk on social media rather than participate. I only participate in prepping sites.

Re: E-mail accounts
Nearly all of the leadership of the Patriots (those who actively oppose the Socialist and Islamist insurgency) are former military or police. Many of them are former MI.... nearly 20%, have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military. To put that number in perspective,....
This actually began under Obama, and has expanded steadily, as the Deep State began to feel threatened by those who took seriously, that their oath was to the Constitution, not to any particular Administration. They began purging Christians and those who had a problem with Obama cozying up to Islamic Terror regimes, and have expanded to where they are now....And since military personnel have to undergo regular security checks, this doesn't sound ominous to me....here's an article from 2018 talking about that:

A lot of those on the "cutting edge" of tech don't have any idea about EXIF data. They just snap the photo and upload to farcebook or some other Socialist Media site.dmwalsh568 wrote:...

I posted here a few days back, about the huge trove of data that was scraped from the Parler site before it was killed off by Amazon. You can be sure that Amazon kept a copy of all of that data to hand over to some enforcement element of the Left.

I have several emails and only one was breached, as well. So ...what do you have to change?

I'm not sure what I have to change. I am going to start with all my passwords and go from there.
I don't know if i should change my log in name or not

Re: E-mail accounts
First, change the password on any account that has been "breached." (This may not really be a full breach, but they have "something" they shouldn't.) Then look at some of the stuff you did when you set it up.
(Be absolutely sure to write down the new password, or enter it into your password manager. Or both.)
Most email accounts today have a "password" recovery option. It will either have a couple questions for you to answer or might call your cell phone, or send an email to another account, to unlock your account if you forget your password. Check to make sure nobody changed anything in there.
That's about all you must do, but you may want to do other things.
I have one account I use for nothing but forums. I use the same pseudonym, and same email account, on almost all forums. It doesn't use my real name, so if it gets breached they don't have much real info.
