Ax-How to Restore an Old One
https://www.artofmanliness.com/articles/how-to-restore-an-heirloom-axe/
This article will teach you how to customize any axe into a tool fit for the Illinois Railsplitter himself. I encourage you to try to find an heirloom axe to restore. With the success of Gransfors Bruks, boutique axes have mushroomed in popularity over the last decade or so. If you are lucky enough to compare a Gransfors, a Wetterlings, a Council Tool, or any of the other available high quality axes to the generic trunk-slapper available at your nearby hardware store, you will be amazed at the cutting ability of even a small camping axe. ---CONTINUED---

Re: Axes and Hatchets
What’s the Difference Between an Axe and a Hatchet?
https://alphasurvivalist.net/axe-vs-hatchet/
Although they are similar in appearance and they can be used for similar purposes in situations that are just about the same, there are a few very real differences between an axe and the best survival hatchet.
Both tools can both be used to cut and chop wood, as well as other materials, with great effectiveness. However, while the axe is a two-handed tool that can maximize your striking power, the size of a survival hatchet is maxed out at about 18 inches, therefore the hatchet is clearly a one-handed tool. ---CONTINUED---
