NEIGHBORHOOD EMERGENCY NOTEBOOK

This is part of the 3 Steps to Family & Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness
While the 3 Steps booklet is a 60-page booklet full of information to help you do this project in your neighborhood -- it is really a guide for neighborhood leaders and not something every family in the neighborhood needs. Another kind of booklet is needed for each individual family.
There is a lot of information that people need to have immediate access to in an emergency -- information that they might not be able to remember at the time they need it. For this purpose we have created the "NEIGHBORHOOD EMERGENCY NOTEBOOK", which we put in a 3-ring binder with tabs and gave to every family in the neighborhood. It's purpose is to make critical emergency information findable to every family. This notebook contains contact information for everyone in the Group of 10, lists of who in the Group of 10 has an alternate heating source and fuel, information on what to do in all different kinds of disasters, forms for the neighborhood for gathering information to be passed on to authorities in a disaster, etc.
Below are links to each of the pages in this notebook. Use the link above to see the contents of the notebook. While we don't have the ability right now to make it easily downloadable for you, you can copy each page individually as needed and then modify each page to suit your own neighborhood emergency notebook. (All names and personal information in this notebook are fictitious, including the name of the neighborhood.) ---CONTINUED---

3 Steps to Family & Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness
"Peace through Preparation"
http://3steps.org/3.steps.pdf
The 3 Steps plan is a simple way to organize a neighborhood so that neighbors help each other to get prepared and be ready for any emergency. It is a way to build community and bring people together for a common cause.
The 3 Steps are these:
1) organize your neighborhood into small groups of about 10 families each
2) help each other acquire emergency supplies
3) obtain rescue training for a large number of people from the neighborhood
