Starting bedding plants.
After a few yrs of frustration of getting leggy bedding plants I finally asked my sister how hers are always perfect. She has a commercial operation near Omaha.
The trick is to keep grow lights one inch or so above the budding plants. Raise the light as needed to maintain the 1 inch. I use 4 ft fixtures with grow light bulbs.
Right now I have 108 peppers planted. Three kinds of green peppers, Thai, Ghost, Reaper and Jalapeno.
Next week I'll start some tomatoes. I start all plants in those little peat pot circles.
After the plants are 4 inches tall I transfer them into coffee cups and fill with store bought dirt. I use the good stuff. What they say is top soil has no benefits for the plants.
When the soil is warm enough I transfer into the garden and use those fertilizer tablets under each plant. Quite often I catch some of the surplus bluegills we have in the pond to plant with the peppers.

I've always put my plants under 4 foot lights once they break ground. I start my seeds in the regular 6 packs that you buy plants in and I don't transplant them until they go in the garden.
I won't start my plants until 1st week of April and then in the garden around June 1st, I've seen snow flurries here on memorial day where I live.

I thought this Forum was finding ways to adapt?
Buy one of those garden battery powered spray bottle and fill with cheap mouthwash. Heat the spray nozzle wand with boiling water so you can bend it into a U shape. For bigger jobs use the pressure washer.
Leaves you with a nice clean minty feeling and smell.

Just don't gag in the mouthwash if you think of this article when gargling.
