Russian Hacking

Seems like Russia is not only looking at the 2018 elections but is looking harder at our electrical grid. Here's an artical about Russian hacking from the NY times.

So far, the hacking has been exploratory. I cannot fathom why we have allowed this system to remain open to hacking, when there are ways to lock it down.

"They were not simply looking around that system and reconnoitering it," Joel Brenner, former head of counter intelligence under the Director of National Intelligence in the Obama administration, told NPR. "They were placing the tools that they would have to place in order to turn off the power. That's a serious vulnerability for us and we're not anywhere near ready to deal with it."

Doesn't sound like Russia is exploring any longer since they now have the tools they need in place, at least according to RM's article. Shocked

Maybe they were just busy with election stuff??
