WELCOME Scudrunner ! Glad to have you join us and looking forward to your posts! We're still a small group here, but a dedicated group.

I agree. I began my 'career' in promoting preparedness in specifically advocating 'pandemic prepping', but now have expanded to 'ALL HAZARDS'. Folks want generalities, not specifics, it seems. And yes ... I think that the interest in aggressive prepping has waned, but from the mom facebook sites I'm on, the general interest is still there for knowledge and has become easier to get to from the increased number of social media sites since I began this, back in 2006. Back then, there was little to no sites to go to. (That's how I got involved in developing the original 'Get Pandemic Ready' website).

Hello from Florida everyone. I've been prepping since Hurricane Opal and was on APN. My world fell apart when I lost my husband so I've been away from many things for the last few years. I've been through a few other hurricanes so that's where I focus but many things done to prepare for that are helpful in other areas. I am a HAM and a bit of a knife nut. I'm vegan so I enjoy finding creative cooking and baking solutions. I also do some canning and dehydrate. I still need some more work on my gardening skills. I have a black thumb. I know some basic first aid and I have helped facilitate cpr/aed classes and a class to teach how to stop trauma bleeding. I'd really like to learn wilderness first aid as I enjoy being out on the trails. I still have a long way to go so I'm glad I have access to the wealth on information here. Thanks to ReadyMom for helping me log in.

So glad you found your way, FloridaClapper! We're still a small group, so you'll see that you found a new home here! I'm so sorry about your husband. You've had a lot to deal with, and it was probably hard to do that on your own, after you lost him.

I don't think we have any, currently, unless they have been reading and not posting. There are some people who just come here and read the articles and posts, but don't write much.

Hello Jamie. I don't know of any in SD, either. Like mentioned above, we seem to have a lot of lurkers and just a handful of active posters.

Late to the party, as usual!

I had family in Billings, MT. Iknow the people from the oil/gas/fracking industry in SD often venture over to MT to live.

If you check other forums, ask for SD info in the MT forums, too.

Recently had a chat with a co worker about moving to SD/MT. I swear, someday, I'll settle down. Crying or Very sad
