Instant Rice/Pasta Meals
I store lots of those Knorrs and store brand instant rice and pasta meals. Yesterday, I opened a chicken flavor with sauce, the best by date was March 10, 2016, over 3 years old.
Well, it tasted just fine, after we ate, I told the wife about the date and she really didn't give it second thought, except to say it still tasted good.

I also store a LOT of these rice/pasts meals. And we are eating some that are a lot older than 2016!

I have to go look. I have date tags on everything in my food storage. Tonight, we ate Betty Crocker Boxed Scallop potatoes that had a 2010 tag on them . They were fine. (I was desperate ... just me & hubby now and I wanted a quick side with some fish we were eating.rick1 wrote:ReadyMom wrote:I also store a LOT of these rice/pasts meals. RE the rice/pasta stuff: I figure the mylar bag they are stored in should add to the shelf life quite a bit.
