Growing the Perfect Coffee

Ever consider growing your own coffee? A disclaimer, if you decide to do this patience will be required! However, the “fruits” of your labor are well worth the wait. Where do I start? Well, you need either the seed or plant. The challenge with growing coffee from a seed is not knowing for certain the age of the seed. Sure, there are plenty of options online and perhaps your local area. If you do get seed, ensure that it is fresh. A side note, if you think that you can take a roasted bean and grow a coffee plant, that will not work. ---CONtiNUED---
And then there is THIS:
Grow Your Own Coffee? Yes! But Just For Fun

Getting your coffee delivered is extremely convenient, but what about growing your own? It would take a large number of coffee plants to be able to produce your own coffee, as well as the ideal environment, so that's not exactly practical. But growing a coffee plant or two might be a fun project.
Coffee plants make excellent houseplants. They are easy to grow and are a great conversation starter. ---CONTINUED---

Re: Growing: Coffee
I have three coffee plants. Although they say they love lots of sunlight, the previous plants died when Husband put them outside to get some sun. The three I have now are thriving in the kitchen window where they get eastern sun for half the day. They are still slow growers, though. After a year, they've only doubled in size.
