Building soil. Empty Building soil.

Here in Missouri we have to manufacture soil as it's either rocks or clay other wise. Twenty yrs ago I hauled in 7 dump truck loads of horse manure. Then talked to the tree trimmers and obtained several truckload of chipped wood for free. Mixed it all together. After the first poor garden i learned rotting horse manure and tree scrap binds up the nitrogen. So test and add accordingly. I can get pure nitrogen from a farm fertilizer outlet. Phosphate depletion is another problem.
Then I talked to the sandblasting place. I bought used sand for $40 a dump truck load to stir in.

Basically the same soil in the raised bed garden. I will cover that in another thread.
