Build a portable woodstove for $30

Home Made Stove: Wood Stove Matthews78-1   (SNIP) ... an attractive stove that could not only heat my big 16′ x 16′ hunting tent, but would be right at home in anybody’s tool shed, workshop, or vacation cabin. In addition, it had a relatively flat cook surface on which I could brew up my morning batch of coffee, bacon, eggs, and home fries. ... built it with no welding, using only a jigsaw, power drill, screwdriver, file (although, in many places, a grinder would have made the job faster and easier), ball-peen hammer, and a pair of pliers, for a total cash outlay of only about $30? And you can do the same. ---CONTINUED---

I would be a little nervous of using a barrel for a wood stove they are kinda thin. I would think they would burn thru pretty easy, but I have never used one before..

My wife got me started going to auctions and we have found a lot of really cheap things there.. I bought a large wood stove last fall for $20 I guess because it was really hot out it went cheap.

If anybody tries the barrel wood stove let us know how it holds ups over a long period pls.

Have a great day folks
