The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has today confirmed that three more people have tested positive for coronavirus. There are now four cases in total confirmed in Norway. None of them are seriously ill. The tests were analysed at Oslo University Hospital and the results were confirmed by the NIPH.

Two of the people have links to the outbreak in Italy and live in Oslo. The third person has a link to the outbreak in Iran and lives in Bærum.

All three are in isolation at home and are being followed up by local healthcare services in their respective municipalities.

Contact tracing is ongoing. Identified contacts will be followed up individually by the local healthcare services according to current NIPH routines.

A professor at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) campus in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, may be the first case of the coronavirus in Mexico, according to state Health Secretary Gloria Molina.

After a recent trip to China, the 57-year-old molecular biologist was hospitalized after showing symptoms of a cough and runny nose.

“This doctor went to China on December 25 and was in the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak occurred, and returned to Mexico on January 10. He spent a day at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City and later traveled to Reynosa,” Molina said.

The patient is of Asian descent and is a researcher of viral and bacterial pathogenesis at the IPN genomic biotechnology laboratory in Reynosa.

He does not show signs of a fever and diagnostics are being run to detect the presence of a respiratory virus.

Health authorities said the scientist had a cough on January 13 and a runny nose on January 16, but has not had any chest pain or a sore throat...

Quebec public health officials confirmed the province’s first case of the new coronavirus, COVID-19, in a statement Friday evening.

Health Minister Danielle McCann had announced the first presumptive case Thursday evening, after a female patient tested positive for the virus following an analysis at the Laboratoire de santé publique du Québec.

A second test carried out at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg also came back positive, officially confirming the diagnosis..

TORONTO — Today, Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, confirmed a new positive case of COVID-19 in Toronto. This is the eighth case in Ontario. Ontario's first three cases are all resolved, with each of those patients having two consecutive negative tests at least 24 hours apart.

After arriving in Toronto on February 20, 2020, a man in his 80s presented himself at Scarborough Health Network's General Hospital's emergency department on February 27, 2020, with a travel history to Egypt. As per established infection prevention and control protocols, the patient was cared for at the hospital using all appropriate precautions, including being isolated as he was tested for COVID-19. The man was discharged home the same day feeling well and, per protocols, went into self-isolation where he remains.

Throughout his travels, the man wore a mask. Toronto Public Health is actively engaged in contact tracing and case management.

At this time the virus is not circulating locally, however given the global circumstances, Ontario is actively working with city and health partners to plan for the potential of local spread. The province continues to carefully monitor this situation and encourage residents to stay informed by regularly reviewing credible information sources.

Dr. Williams will provide an update on the situation at the regularly scheduled media briefing on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Queen's Park media studio.

COPENHAGEN — The first three cases of people infected with coronavirus have been confirmed in Iceland, the country's Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management said in a statement late on Sunday.

The first patient was diagnosed on Friday while two other patients were confirmed during the weekend. All three patients had spent time on holiday in northern Italy, authorities said.

A 20-year-old university student from China has become the 34th case of coronavirus in Australia.

The young man, who is understood to have spent 14 days 'self-quarantined' in Dubai, flew into Brisbane on February 23.

It comes amid fears Chinese students are exploiting loopholes in the China travel ban, spending two weeks in other countries before arriving in Australia.

A student at the University of Queensland, he became unwell two days after arriving in Brisbane.

Yeah, that is about the same as the multiplier I have been using.
I used "double every four days" until the "self quarantine" began to be effective, then I went to every six days. Doubling every six days is almost identical to 10 fold every 19 days.
