I had to stop and laugh at this picture.
(Also seen in one of the Vietnam era movies, as part of a repeater station for "Radio Hanoi")  

The radio is an AN/FRC-153 version of the (Collins) Ham Radio known as KWM-2.
It was one of the last radios in service to employ "Tubes," and it was my specialty, in the Air Force.
The radio was used from about 1965 to 1987.
