Knowing a lot of government people, just enough to treat themselves.

Personally, I wouldn't take it anyways. I suspect it would just prolong the inevitable, and the suffering.

OK, so they are buying a few hundred thousand doses. Here is the catch, from the CDC website:

The cause of death in most cases is the destruction of the person’s bone marrow, which results in infections and internal bleeding.

OK, cool, the shot returns your platelets to normal, but your marrow is still gone, so tomorrow you start the dying process, all over again.

This is a lot different than getting a dose (a much lower dose than is discussed above) of fallout that includes radioactive iodine, which could lead to thyroid cancer. In that case, taking iodine pills prevents the thyroid from absorbing the radioactive iodine, thus preventing the cancer.
